What's New in Version 3.3

New:
• By default, Textastic now always restores files and windows when re-opening the app. This can be disabled in the new advanced preferences tab.
• Improved indentation when the cursor is between HTML or XML tags and you press return.
• The sidebar can now follow symbolic links. Please note that the symbolic link target must be within a folder added to the sidebar due to sandboxing restrictions.

Fixed:
• Fixed performance issues with wide color monitors on macOS Sierra.
• Deleting a very large number of lines from large files could result in a crash.
• The line and column status bar items now use a system font with monospaced digit glyphs. Folx pro 5 4 – download manager software. This prevents the status bar from jiggling when you type.
• Sometimes folders in the sidebar were not restored properly when re-opening the app.
• When changing to another tab before duplicating a file was finished, the wrong file was renamed.
• Pasting text with the last line only consisting of whitespace sometimes did not properly update the internal text selection state. This could result in a crash on the next key press.
• A file extension specified in a template was not honoured when saving the new file created by template. For example, if the template specified a '.cc' file extension, '.cp' was used instead.
• Loading a custom syntax definition from the #Textastic folder could result in a crash if the language grammar was not a valid property list dictionary.
• Other minor fixes

Textastic 3 3d

  • Details:

I recently bought Textastic because I felt rather limited by the Pythonista text editor. And I must say that editing long scripts is a lotter easier with this dedicated editor.
Now I can properly find and replace text.
Now I can easily indent/outdent text.
Now I access the code for a certain sumbol directly.
I can see more text at once (at least on an iPad)
Now I can much more easily transfer scripts between the editor and DropBox (which I do often, because I swap between desktop and iPad frequently)
There is also a very convenient cursor pad for navigation in a script.
It is possible to enter all (?) 'strange' characters possible via a top row, although implemented quite differently from Pythonista (still not sure which I like most).

Textastic 3 360

The only thing that's a bit clumsy for me is that both these programs have their own directory to keep files (thanks to Apple!).
The transfer from Pythonista to Textastic is rather straighforward by Share / Copy to Textastic. The other direction is not directly supported. I now tend to copy/paste the whole text, but that's far from elegant.
So it would be nice if Pythonsita and Textastic could communicate easier.

Futhermore I am really impressed by the way Textastic integrates with DropBox (Just transfer either way by means of Upload or Download). It would be really nice if Pythonista could realize something similar. Now I have to use a script called dropboximport, which is far from ideal.

So to summarize:
It would be nice if there was a better integration of Pythonista and Textastic
Maybe one day Pythonista could incorporate all or some features of Textastic (i.e. https://tkjf.over-blog.com/2021/01/descargar-adobe-para-mac.html. the superior editing and DropBox support).
